About Ownly
Inspired by how
people buy today.
Built for how
homebuilders sell
tomorrow.
Founded in 2020, Ownly was created to remove doubt, reduce friction, and bring trust back to one of life's biggest decisions.
Inspired by industries that had already embraced digital buying experiences, we set out to help homebuilders deliver that same confidence online.
Over two decades working alongside North America's leading production homebuilders.
Our Story
A better experience was possible.
The homebuying landscape has changed dramatically. But for too long, the technology behind it hadn't kept up.
Jason Hardy and Ray Yip saw the same problem repeat across builders, markets, and teams. The technology existed. The buyer demand existed. The connected experience didn't.
01
Homebuyers changed.
Consumers became comfortable researching, comparing, reserving, and even purchasing high-value products online.
02
Homebuilding didn't.
Most builder websites still stopped at "Contact Us." Sales teams had to rebuild buyer context from scratch.
03
We believed there was a better way.
We set out to connect every step of the experience—so builders could better understand buyers and deliver outcomes that move people forward.
The technology existed. The buyer demand existed.
The connected experience didn't.
Why Ownly Exists
Technology should strengthen the experience—not replace the relationship.
Remove uncertainty.
Buying a home should create excitement—not confusion. We help buyers move forward with confidence.
Connect every interaction.
Every click should make the next conversation better. We ensure no buyer signal is ever lost.
Help builders understand buyers before they raise their hand.
Better insight leads to better conversations and stronger outcomes—for everyone.

Leadership Perspective
Jason Hardy
Co-Founder & CEO, Ownly
Technology should remove uncertainty so builders can focus on what matters most: creating exceptional buying experiences.”
For more than two decades, Jason has helped builders navigate change by combining deep industry expertise with practical technology that improves the way homes are bought and sold.
The Perspective
Jason Hardy has spent more than 22 years helping shape the future of homebuilding through real estate marketing, land development, technology, and innovation. Throughout his career, one challenge became increasingly clear: while nearly every major purchasing experience had evolved digitally, buying a new home remained fragmented and unnecessarily complex.
Having worked alongside many of Canada's most respected builders and developers, Jason developed a deep understanding of the industry's challenges long before founding Ownly. From his early years at Applied Communications to establishing Chatterson, one of Western Canada's leading real estate marketing firms, he built a career helping builders connect with buyers in more meaningful ways.
In 2020, Jason co-founded Ownly with a simple belief: buying a home should be as intuitive, transparent, and customer-friendly as buying anything else online. Under his leadership, Ownly has grown into one of North America's leading digital homebuying platforms, helping builders modernize the customer experience while strengthening the relationships that have always been at the heart of new home sales.
Beyond Ownly, Jason is widely recognized as one of Canada's leading voices on proptech and real estate innovation. He teaches Real Estate Marketing and PropTech at the Haskayne School of Business, serves as a Director of REDI Canada, contributes to multiple advisory committees, and works closely with industry organizations to help shape the future of homebuilding.
What Drives Jason
Builders Come First
Technology should begin with the realities builders face every day, creating solutions that fit naturally into how they sell homes.
Trust Creates Momentum
The buying journey moves forward when buyers have confidence. Removing uncertainty builds trust, and trust creates momentum.
Real Results Matter
Technology should deliver measurable improvements in customer experience, operational efficiency, and business performance.
Relationships Win
The best homebuying experiences are built on people. Technology should strengthen those relationships, never replace them.

Leadership Perspective
Ray Yip
Co-Founder & CTO
Technology should remove complexity—not create it.”
A scalable platform disappears into the background, allowing builders to focus on buyers instead of systems.
Ray's perspective on building technology that connects systems, simplifies operations, and creates seamless experiences.
The Perspective
Behind every buyer journey is an enormous amount of technology working together.
Builder websites, CRMs, reservations, identity verification, reporting, marketing platforms, and dozens of other systems all need to exchange information seamlessly.
From the beginning, Ray's vision has been to make that complexity invisible.
As Co-Founder and CTO, he leads the architecture behind Ownly—building a platform that is scalable, secure, and flexible enough to evolve alongside the homebuilding industry.
Rather than replacing the tools builders already rely on, Ownly is designed to connect them, ensuring every buyer interaction becomes part of one continuous experience.
What Drives Ray
Build for Scale
Enterprise architecture designed to support builders of every size.
Connect Everything
Systems create more value when they work together instead of operating in silos.
Security by Design
Privacy, reliability, and trust are built into every release—not added afterward.
Solve the Right Problems
Technology should simplify operations and remove friction for both builders and buyers.
Platform Philosophy
Great software isn't measured by features.
It's measured by how effortlessly teams can do their jobs.
Ray believes the best technology quietly supports people behind the scenes—automating repetitive work, connecting disconnected systems, and providing the right information at exactly the right moment.
That philosophy continues to shape every new capability added to Ownly.
